Maybeth Wirz
Co-President and Retired Municipal Agent for the Elderly, DHS
Maybeth graduated from Rutgers University (Douglass College) in 1961 with a degree in English. Much of her working life has been with special populations. A job placing the physically handicapped in competitive industry was followed by raising a family which coincided with a newly developed passion for horticulture. As a horticultural therapist working with developmentally challenged adults she also developed programs for seniors. She recently retired from Westport's Department of Human Services where she worked with seniors for twelve years. As the town's Municipal Agent for the Elderly she was in daily contact with the needs of seniors, transportation issues being one of the major challenges. She has been thrilled to work with and cheer on the energetic volunteers who have brought ITNCoastalCt into a reality.
